Questions About Guitar Lessons in Little Rock
I'm an adult beginner. Is this too serious for me?
No. Most of my students are adult hobby players, and many started from zero. You get college-level teaching, aimed at the songs you want to play. No jargon, no reading music needed, no pressure. Bring an electric, an acoustic, or both.
What styles do you teach?
Rock, blues, country, folk, bluegrass, metal, fingerstyle, singer-songwriter/Americana, and more, on electric, acoustic or classical guitar. Jazz and classical by request. I also teach electric, bass, and church and worship guitar.
Who do you teach?
I teach adults and motivated teens 13 and up, from brand new beginners to players with years behind them. Casual player or pro level, you're welcome here. Many of my adult students are in their 60s and 70s.
Where are your guitar lessons?
I teach at Little Rock Music Academy, 11220 North Rodney Parham Road, in West Little Rock. Lessons are in person at the studio. In special cases I teach online. Ask me on the free call.
How long is a guitar lesson?
Lessons are 30 minutes, once a week, one on one. That's four lessons a month. Advanced students may be able to do hour-long lessons, case by case.
Do I need to read music?
No. We use tab, and I teach you what tab leaves out, like which fingers to use and which way to pick. If you want to learn standard notation at any time, I can teach that too.
How much are lessons?
Lessons are billed monthly, four 30-minute lessons. I go over the rate on the free 15-minute call. More on the free call page.
How do I start?
Book a free 15-minute phone call, any time, day or night. Then we meet at the studio for a no-obligation, 30-minute free consultation. This is our chance to get to know each other, discuss your goals, maybe play a little, and plan how we can achieve your goals together.
Do students come from outside Little Rock?
Yes. Students drive in every week from Cabot, Benton, Bryant, Jacksonville, Conway, Maumelle, North Little Rock and Sherwood. Lessons are 30 minutes, once a week, at Little Rock Music Academy in West Little Rock. We start with a free 15-minute phone call, so you know it is worth the drive before you make it.
